RESCHEDULED: ECCO’s Annual Oyster Roast

This event has been rescheduled due to whether! Join us on our new event date of Sunday, January 25th for our annual ECCO Membership Oyster Roast — a fun, laid-back way to enjoy oysters, connect with neighbors, and support ECCO.

🎟 Tickets include your 2026 household membership and entry to the event. Tickets make great gifts! Purchase a ticket for your neighbor - just be sure to provide their name and address in the order form after payment.

Kids under 14 are free, and there will be a non-oyster food option available for kids and anyone who prefers an alternative. Oysters, other food items, and soft drinks are provided. Everything else is BYOB.

🌧 Rain date: this event is being rescheduled to our new date of January 25th. Anyone unable to attend the new date who has already purchased a ticket can request a refund via the eventbrite link. Please reach out to treasurer@earlewood.org for any questions about this!

EarleJam is Earlewood's FREE annual music festival featuring local acts, food and bev, and community groups. Enjoy a beautiful day at the Earlewood Amphitheatre listening to great local music. This event is free to attend, with food and bev for sale. Don't forget to bring a blanket! This event is family friendly - kids and dogs are welcome to attend.

The Big Flea

Join us for Columbia's best community yard sale, The Big Flea !!!

In 2002, the Earlewood neighborhood had its first yard sale to benefit the neighborhood association. The popular yard sale morphed into the Big Flea.

This year's Big Flea will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9am to 12 pm at the Lutheran Reformation Parking Lot and throughout the Historic Earlewood Neighborhood.

Click the button below to register by Monday, April 14, 2025! Registration is required to host a yard sale and includes city permit, location on our Big Flea map, and advertising.

Don’t have space for a yard sale? No problem—just select “Booth at Lutheran Reformation Parking Lot.” They are providing chairs and tables for set-up at this location.

You will receive an email after registering to confirm your address for the Big Flea map.

Earlewood’s Adopted Family (Families Helping Families)

For the fifth year in a row, Earlewood is adopting a family in need for the holidays through Families Helping Families. We have adopted a nine-person family - a mom and eight children. Gifts can be purchased and dropped off at 3000 Gadsden Street (wrapped or unwrapped) - just make sure to note which family member the gifts are for. If possible, avoid using gift bags as the gifts can fall out during transportation to the family.

Please also feel free to shop online and have the gifts delivered straight to Bonnie Slyce at 3000 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201.

If you would prefer to donate money and have ECCO do the shopping, send a message to Bonnie Slyce (president@earlewood.org).

Grocery gift cards are a great addition to support the family. If you have any questions, please contact Bonnie Slyce at president@earlewood.org.

ALL GIFTS/DONATIONS MUST BE DELIVERED TO 3000 GADSDEN STREET BY DECEMBER 2nd!

Plan to attend EarleJam 2024 for some family-friendly fun at the Earlewood Amphitheater in Earlewood Park. Please join us for this family and pet friendly event!

Admission is free, but plan to bring cash or card for the food and drinks. The band line up is TBD

You may not bring Alcohol into the park, but feel free to bring a chair and/or blanket. Parking will be limited inside the park but is also available at Earlewood Baptist Church, a short distance from the amphitheater. 

Please note that Recreation Drive (that runs through the park) and the Northwood Extension (that crosses Earlewood Drive and goes around the ball fields to Recreation Drive) will be closed from 12-8 p.m. for this event.

Volunteers are needed to help set up and breakdown. To volunteer for EarleJam, please contact info@earlewood.org.

National Night Out

Earlewood Park Amphitheater and Covered Picnic Shelter - 1113 Recreation Drive

National Night Out is an annual event designed to increase awareness of crime prevention programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit. NNO also provides an opportunity to promote and celebrate police-community partnerships in crime prevention efforts.

On the designated night every year, residents in neighborhoods throughout Columbia and across the nation will lock their doors, turn on their front porch light and spend the evening with neighbors and police to promote neighborhood unity against crime. Together we can send a strong message to criminals that we will not tolerate crime in our neighborhood.
